Energy in the Community
January 23 @ 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
All welcome! Join Transition Bro Gwaun for a FREE event about energy in the community at the Gateway Community Hub in Fishguard.
Experience hands on energy generation at the Solar Fire Engine, and a day of inspiring talks, workshops and short films which is set to create a buzz around renewable energy and how you and your community can be part of the solution.
The day will focus on three themes:
> Saving Energy in the Home
> Storing and sharing Energy
> Energy generation in the community
Talks include: Tidal turbines and ‘active buildings’ that generate their own solar energy; how to get involved in community energy and exploring the benefits of electric vehicles; and creating a vision for Fishguard to be powered by community energy by 2030. The day sees a broad spectrum of Energy solutions with a particular emphasis on how communities can take the power.
Drop in any time for as long or as little as you want to this free event. More info about the day and what’s happening can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/
And don’t miss the Solar Fire Engine in the car park. REsource Living, a community organisation, will be joining the day showcasing their solar power system housed in the fire engine. Free refreshments will be provided by Grub Kitchen — an innovative kitchen-restaurant dedicated to big flavours with small environmental cost.
The ‘Energy in the Community’ event is dedicated to sharing information and ideas about what’s happening in our communities and how you can get involved.
